Cisco Systems will be holding a breakfast press conference during the International Broadcasting Conference in Amsterdam www.ibc.org on Friday Sept 12th.

Paolo Campoli, head of solutions marketing, Cisco Systems EMEA will present how Cisco's IP and Gigabit Ethernet network technology can help address the challenges of migrating to an "on demand" model of contribution, distribution and delivery of video from the studio to the production unit, to the consumer.

The press conference will focus on:

  • Cisco's experience in supplying technology for fibre to the home networks to deliver broadcast TV and video on demand for consumers
  • The evolution from video distribution over proprietary or dedicated networks to Gigabit Ethernet and IP in cable and carrier networks
  • IP networking in the production environment
  • How Cisco is working with video specialists to deliver these models

Tim Sheppard of TANDBERG Television will also present during the press conference and will outline TANDBERG Television's strategy for the delivery of Video over IP for HD and SD IP Contribution and Distribution, Video on Demand and broadband homes access.
