I grew up in a small village in India and joined Cisco in 2010, not long after the opening of its Bangalore campus. I started as a UI developer in the Internet Business Security Group (IBSG), where our team of about 40 was focused on pioneering new security solutions.

From its modest beginnings, our team has expanded to 600-700 members, driven by strategic acquisitions and the onboarding of fresh talent from universities. This growth has brought new energy and ideas, driving our innovation and success.

In my early days at Cisco, I played a pivotal role in transforming and integrating the management system from Sourcefire, a company Cisco acquired, into the Firewall Management Center. The product evolved into the cloud-based Security Cloud Control, placing us at the edge of security solutions with advanced AI-driven threat protection and streamlined operations.

Today, I’m excited to be integrating AI-assisted features into our security solutions. AI is revolutionizing how we tackle cybersecurity, helping us anticipate attacks, detect threats quickly, and enforce policies efficiently.

It’s a thrilling area for our engineers who are passionate about the potential of AI. Our strategy focuses on providing comprehensive cybersecurity solutions that secure the entire AI stack, ensuring AI-powered threats are met with AI-powered defenses.

The collaboration with Splunk significantly enhances our capabilities in AI, security, and observability. Acquiring Splunk has introduced new ideas to our security solutions and driven connectivity across our teams. This combination of teamwork and integration is key to our success, enabling us to quickly adapt to changes in the security landscape.

Together, we unlock the true value of data, helping organizations become more secure and resilient.

Cisco and Splunk are also well-positioned to responsibly harness AI's power, given our extensive scale, data visibility, and foundation of trust. By providing customers with visibility and intelligence across networks, security, applications, and data, we help them develop effective data strategies.

As Cisco celebrates its 40th anniversary, the growth of the security group highlights the company's ongoing commitment to building a culture that inspires both personal and collective success.

The Bangalore office enables us to do our best work as a vibrant hub of innovation and community. There, we host campus events that foster collaboration, creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. We also emphasize mentorship, particularly for new college hires, creating a cycle of growth that benefits both individuals and the organization.

I've also had the opportunity to learn from inspiring leaders within Cisco and those from acquired companies. Their guidance has been invaluable in navigating the complexities of integrating new technologies and teams. This mentorship has helped me grow personally and professionally, enabling me to contribute significantly to our team's success.

With our innovative culture and our robust AI-driven security portfolio, Cisco is poised to redefine how our customers understand and interact with their security control points, paving the way for a more secure future.
