HANOI, Vietnam, April 22, 2010 – Cisco and the People's Committee of Da Nang today announced the next stage in their collaboration to explore how Cisco® technologies can transform Da Nang City into an economically viable community over a networked environment.
Today's amendment to the memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of Mr Vo Duy Khuong, Vice President of the People's Committee of Da Nang, Mr. Pham Kim Son, Director of Da Nang Department of Information and Communication, Christian Hentschel, Cisco's managing director for emerging countries in Asia, as well as Lee Chiang Toh, country manager for Cisco in Vietnam. The amendment to the MoU will explore collaborations using innovative solutions that use the network to connect, engage, and empower people while accelerating economic growth and strengthening social well-being.
The MoU originally signed in 2007 identified opportunities where Cisco technology and expertise could optimise Da Nang as the leading government administration in Vietnam using information and communication technologies.
