Cisco to Moderate Intelligent Transportation Society of America Executive Panel Featuring the Country's Top Transportation Officials

Who/What: Cisco Systems®, Inc., with its Cisco's comprehensive suite of networking solutions for the transportation industry, will exhibit at the 14th Annual ITSA Meeting and Exposition. Cisco will participate and be featured in the following panels:

"Legislative Opportunities: Reauthorization and Appropriations" moderated by Mark Boyer, business development manager, Cisco Systems, on Tuesday, April 27, 2004, from 10:30 am-noon. Panel participants include:

  • Emil Frankel, Assistant Secretary for Transportation Policy, Department of Transportation
  • Graham Hill, House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee
  • Thomas Lynch, Legislative Director, Department of Transportation
  • Jonathan Upchurch, House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee

"Telecommunications Network Integration" will be moderated by Brian Gorman, director of technology, New Jersey Turnpike Authority, on Monday, April 26, 2004, from 1:30-3:30 pm.

"Telecommunications and Traffic Operations Centers" presented by Larry O'Connell, product manager, Cisco Systems, on Monday, April 26, 2004, from 3:30-5 pm.

"Public Safety Forum" presented by Mark Bresniker, product manager, Cisco Systems, on Tuesday, April 27, 2004, from 2-4 pm.

"The Value of Internet Protocol for Traffic Light Controls Systems" presented by Mark Bresniker, product manager, Cisco Systems on Wednesday, April 28, 2004, from 3:30-5 pm.

Cisco Systems' ITSA demonstration at booth #358 will highlight IP video surveillance, intelligent Ethernet, wireless LAN's, and optical technologies. Featuring the Cisco Catalyst 2955 as the interface to the network, the demonstration will use a roadside cabinet configured with a traffic signal controller and video camera with encoder. The signal controller will deliver low-bandwidth data back to the traffic control center via the Cisco Catalyst 2955, while the encoder delivers high-bandwidth video and video surveillance streams to end point devices via Cisco Aironet wireless.
