SAN JOSE, Calif., October 8, 2003 - Cisco Systems, Inc.® today announced the launch of the Cisco Certifications Community, a knowledge sharing portal exclusively for Cisco certified individuals. The community portal serves as a platform for Cisco certified individuals to network and interact with peers to share best practices. Initially released as a pilot five months ago, the portal has already attracted more than 20,000 member subscribers.

The Cisco Certifications Community offers access to news, discussion groups, video presentations, white papers, articles and other content on networking tools and learning. For the launch, Cisco has included:

  • Three hours of free online training on security best practices
  • CCNA and CCNP game on networking skills
  • Networkers' toolbox containing technical information and profiles of successful CCIE's

In addition to technology news, the community informs participants of updates to Cisco certification programs, recertification requirements and information about upcoming courses and exams.

"Individuals with the dedication to attain technology certifications demonstrate their commitment to learning," said Tom Kelly, vice president of Internet Learning Solutions Group at Cisco Systems. "Cisco believes that learning goes far beyond the classroom. The new certification community portal allows networking professionals to share ideas and support their networking skills with people who have similar interests and different experiences."

Certified individuals can visit www.cisco.com/go/certcommunity to view and participate. The content on the community is free of charge to Cisco certified individuals after online verification of certification status.
