SAN JOSE, Calif., August 20, 2003 - Cisco Systems, Inc.® today announced its Cisco Learning Credits Program has reached significant milestones in customer adoption, more than doubling customer usage in the past two quarters.

Significant drivers in customer adoption are attributed to the program's powerful and easy-to-use Cisco Learning Credits Management Tool and customers' ability to purchase training at the same time they procure Cisco hardware, software or services.

The escalation of customers purchasing Cisco Learning Credits underscores the program is meeting a real customer need and highlights Cisco's commitment to ensuring its customers are able to derive the most productive return on their network investment. The Cisco Learning Credits Program helps enable customers to benefit from faster productivity gains on their network investment by integrating training at the start of a product or service introduction.

Cisco Learning Credits deliver an efficient and integrated process for managing the purchase and lifecycle of technical training and reduce the costs of administering separate budgets, purchase orders and expense reimbursements associated with the purchase of training on an ad hoc basis. The Cisco Learning Credits Program, in conjunction with the customized Cisco Learning Credits Management Tool, provides customers with the powerful ability to review, redeem and administrate training.

"The momentum we've created in the first ten months of the program is a strong beginning," said Dianne Brodie, program manager for the Cisco Learning Credits Program. "The new wins we're seeing affirm that customers are deriving value from streamlining the purchase and administration of Cisco training and certifications."

To review, redeem and administer training, customers can use the customized Cisco Learning Credits Management Tool for an up-to-date accounting of which individuals have enrolled in specific programs and helps them identify additional training needs. Each Cisco Learning Credit pays for US$100 of high quality authorized training, delivered by participating Learning Partners worldwide. The credits are valid for one year from purchase date.
