SCS To Represent Malaysia in Asia Pacific Finals
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - May 9, 2003 - SCS Computer System's sales executives, Mr Tan Yap Khim and Mr Ngo Kwai Meng have won a 'battle of wits' that tested the limits of their technical knowledge and emerged as Champions of the Cisco 'Tech Mastermind' contest for Malaysia.
Cisco's biggest online and live search for the best technical brains in Malaysia culminated in a tough competition among IT industry experts from Advantage Systems, CTi Systems, Fujitsu, Glocomp Systems, Jardine OneSolution, O'Connor's Engineering, SCS, Silicon Intranet & Networking and Solsis in the exciting finals held at the social hotspot, Bar Med in Sri Hartamas.
Tech Mastermind is organised for Cisco's authorised Resellers and Premier Resellers throughout the Asia Pacific region, and is managed by Cisco Rewards, an incentive Channels Programme that rewards sales and certifications achievements.
Held for the first time in Malaysia, Cisco 'Tech Mastermind' has been running for nearly two months with over 200 teams from 12 countries battling to represent their countries in the Tech Mastermind Asia Pacific finals.
"Malaysia was in fact the first country in Asia Pacific to hold Tech Mastermind," said Mr Johnson Khoo, managing director of Cisco Systems Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
The Malaysia contest kicked off with a series of four online quizzes that began on the 24th March and ended on the 20th April this year. The top ten teams were then gathered to compete for the Malaysian 'Tech Mastermind' title.
Khoo continued, "I want to congratulate Mr Tan and Mr Ngo and will be giving them all the support necessary to do Malaysia proud at the Asia Pacific finals. We are very encouraged by the response to the competition, especially as this is the first time we are holding it in Malaysia. One important fact that we have learned is that the investment and resources that Cisco has placed into training and developing our channels has paid off. Our customers in Malaysia can rest assured that they will be served by some very knowledgeable and skilled people."
