With a Cisco Powered Network, Icon offers customers reliable, secure and high-performance Internet services. This relationship highlights Icon CMTs and Cisco's focus on using intelligent broadband IP networking to deliver enhanced connectivity and network-based applications.

Icon built an advanced Internet backbone using the Cisco 7500 high-end core router and the Cisco 12000 gigabit switch router (GSR) to offer dedicated IP networking services to its corporate customers. The Cisco 7500 series router is designed for environments requiring high-performance, high-availability routing. The Cisco 12000 GSR provides high-performance solutions ranging from five to 60 Gbps for Internet and large-scale WAN Intranet backbone applications.
