Programs to Include New Bundled Solutions, Financial Incentives, and Training
SAN JOSE, Calif. - November 11, 1996 - Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCO) today announced a suite of business and product solutions that will enable Internet Service Providers to readily meet their customer demands and make themselves more profitable. The programs were introduced last week to the industry's leading service providers at a conference held here by Cisco. The solutions program includes end-to-end, customer premises equipment(CPE) solutionscoupled with targeted business incentives to allow Cisco customers to easily deploy services to their end users.
Cisco's new business solutions address the primary problems facing ISP's today including, obtaining capital funding to finance growth, minimizing the cost of building and operating a network infrastructure, budgeting for training staff, launching a marketing campaign, and designing and paying for special sales incentives to drive short-term revenue. Moreover, by delivering these bundled CPE solutions Cisco has also addressed service provider's demand for creating value-added services while decreasing time to market.
"It has never been easier or more affordable to do business with Cisco," according to Christopher McCleary, president and chief executive officer of DIGEX (NASDAQ: DIGX), a first-tier national ISP, headquartered in Maryland. "DIGEX finds Cisco's product and financial solutions a win-win for ourselves, and ultimately, our customers."
"ISPs face daunting challenges which many vendors neither understand nor address," explains Tom Jenkins, a broadband consultant with TeleChoice, a Verona, NJ-based consulting firm. "Cisco has clearly attained credibility in the enterprise market and developing solution bundles like these will help Cisco achieve similar status among service providers."
"Our customers require easy access to Internet and Intranet applications and they want them now," said Joel Moss, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Bell Atlantic Network Integration. "Bundled solutions enable BANI to deliver the services and solutions to make our customers more competitive as well as ourselves."
Cisco also announced today, additional solution bundles including Easy Connection Packages that allow ISPs to offer quick and easy Internet access for their customers. These customer premises equipment (CPE) bundles include the necessary hardware and software components with a single, easy to order part number. (See addendum of Solutions for service providers).
"Cisco has successfully lowered the barriers to market entry for many companies that could fast become the next real player in the lucrative service provider space," said Jon Shantz, vice president of service provider marketing for Cisco. "Many of our customers are now achieving critical time-to-market demands the industry and their customers require."
All bundled CPE solutions and financial programs are available today.
