Yahoo! JAPAN Adopts Cisco Nexus 7000 Series As Core Switch For New Data Center

TOKYO - January 27, 2009 - Cisco Systems Godo Kaisha (President & CEO: Edzard Overbeek; Address: Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Cisco) today announced that Yahoo Japan Corporation (President and CEO: Masahiro Inoue; Address: Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Yahoo) has adopted the Cisco NexusTM 7000 series as the core switch for its new data center. Planned in response to increased consumer demand for Yahoo! JAPAN services, the new data center aims to improve server capacity and application performance, as well as enhance disaster recovery capabilities. The Nexus family supports Cisco's Data Center 3.0 goal to help IT organizations respond dynamically to changing business demands through rapid provisioning of application and infrastructure services from shared pools of consolidated compute, storage, and network resources.
