As part of Cisco’s corporate social responsibility programme and with the help of Cisco TelePresence® technology, Santa will be visiting hospitals across the UK and Ireland to speak to children personally about what’s on their Christmas list this year.
Now in its fourth year, and with new hospitals taking part every Christmas, Cisco’s Connected Santa programme uses Cisco’s high-definition video system so children in hospital can speak directly to Santa.
The technology is available at many hospitals across the UK and is used throughout the year to help improve the speed and quality of patient diagnoses. It is ideal for bringing together patients and specialists regardless of their geographic location and helping improve the standard of patient care.
Jordi Ferrer, managing director, Service Provider at Cisco UK & Ireland, said, “It’s great to see Cisco’s Connected Santa programme go from strength to strength. Christmas is an exciting time for children and their families and at Cisco we are delighted that Santa can use the latest technology to visit children in hospital, whilst the elves are busy getting everyone’s presents ready for the big day.”
