Sao Paulo, Brazil, November 24, 2015 - The digital revolution is bringing about major changes in behavior and in the way people consume products and services, including the way people watch their favorite TV shows. To meet this demand, Globo, the leading TV broadcaster in Brazil, has launched Globo Play, a simulcasting application, and video-on-demand service solution, that enables viewers to access its content anytime, from devices such as smartphones, tablets, computers and connected TVs. The new application is based on Cisco® Virtualized Video Processing (V2P) a virtualized and automated platform that helps deliver real-time full-featured content.

Cisco V2P allows service providers to edit and immediately deliver real-time content on other digital platforms. "The V2P solution streamlines the delivery process. Now, we are able to deliver content through the application within minutes after broadcasting it on TV," explains Marcus Luz, director of Enterprise, at Cisco Brazil.

In Brazil, it is the first time a broadcaster is making its daily content available in real-time across multiple platforms. According to Andre Altieiri, business developer manager for Media and Entertainment, at Cisco Brazil, the pioneering initiative of Globo marks the beginning of a change that will gradually be adopted by other TV stations. "By using technology platforms in their favor, broadcasters begin to understand our customers’ new habits," he adds.

"We live in dynamic times with mobility and optimized time on-the-go. By launching this initiative, we intend to continue offering the best content no matter where our audience is," says Marcelo Souza, director of Digital Media at Globo.
