Cisco Solutions Foster Collaboration at Punto México Conectado Sites in the Country

The collaboration solutions Cisco TelePresence and Cisco WebEx help to set up communication within centers.

Cisco Live!™ Cancun, November 3, 2015.- As a result of Cisco’s commitment from Cisco to Mexico’s digital agenda and to reinforce the work developed by the Mexican Ministry of Communications and Transportation, SCT, Cisco™ has deployed 32 TelePresence SX80 Codecs, in the Punto México Conectado (PMC) network of digital centers, working with Cisco’s local market channel partners. The PMC’s will also have access to the Cisco WebEx®collaboration solutions.

Cisco solutions which now support the services offered by the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo Leon at PMCs will help to establish the connection vía Internet between sites. They will also support external organizations, such as academy and industry, to promote collaboration, and enhance the social impact of the PMC in the community where they are based.

Additionally, three PMC will host a Cisco Networking Academy® with the initial learning programs, and they will also have a IoT/IoE Innovation Lab to develop talent and promote innovation in the country. Courses of the Networking Academy will also be available to the 32 sites through these solutions and supported by America Digital, Cisco Non-profit Partner to promote Digital Inclusion.

Punto Mexico Conectado is a national network of community centers for digital education and training. There are 32 sites, one in each state of the country. There attendees have access to new technologies and learn how to use them, with the objective of developing creativity and starting innovative projects. Up to date PMCs have received over 105,000 participants.

  • TechnoEntrepreneurship

The IoT/IoE Innovation Labs provide Software Development Kits (SDK) combining local resources and testing spaces based in the cloud, as well as learning tools to foster innovation through development and entrepreneurship of Internet of Everything applications supported by the Cisco technology platform and its ecosystem.

The solutions deployed at Punto Mexico Conectado are:
