Tara Seracka is Senior Vice President, Legal & Deputy General Counsel for Cisco Systems, Inc. In this role, Seracka leads the Product Legal team responsible for supporting all Cisco Engineering teams across intellectual property, data privacy and security, go to market, product development, and market access matters. She is a member of the senior leadership teams of Cisco executives Dev Stahlkopf (EVP and Chief Legal Officer), Jonathan Davidson (EVP and General Manager, Cisco Networking), and Liz Centoni (EVP, Chief Strategy Officer and General Manager, Applications.) Prior to leading the Product Legal team, Seracka led Enterprise Networking & Cloud Legal and was General Counsel of Meraki (acquired by Cisco).
Before joining Meraki in 2015, Seracka worked in private practice as a finance and technology attorney at the international law firms of Orrick and Perkins Coie. Seracka began her firm practice as a debt and equity finance lawyer representing buyers and lenders in large scale credit facilities and private equity investments and then moved into representing emerging technology companies and venture investors. She has worked with a variety of clients, including early-stage startups and publicly traded companies across all stages of the company lifecycle.
Seracka also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the SF-Marin Food Bank and co-founded and currently operates a consulting firm, Persistent Ventures, through which she advises tech startups with a focus on women and minority founded businesses.
Seracka attended Santa Clara University, studying business and art history, and earned her law degree from Boston College Law School. Seracka holds a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
