Nancy Scott is the Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Cisco, leading the Legal Sales and Marketing organization. Nancy and her team oversee Cisco’s transactional and deal negotiation support for Customers and Partners, with responsibilities including general commercial legal matters, Cisco Capital transactions, Marketing including sponsorship and trademarks, and overall ‘go to market’ legal support around the globe.
Prior to joining Cisco in November of 2022, Nancy had extensive knowledge and experience leading global transformative change, helping to scale and improve customer and Partner’s transactional experiences and deliver best in class commercial legal support in the technology sector. Most recently, she served as the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at VMware Inc with responsibility for the International and Commercial Legal team, where the team reimagined and delivered a new contracting experience for customers and Partners. Prior to VMware, Nancy served as the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel, Global Commercial Law, at Avaya Inc. With a passion to deliver best in class legal services that simplifies the contracting experience for our Customer’s and Partner’s, she is responsible for innovating and transforming the commercial legal foundational footprint for Cisco.
When she is not otherwise advancing transformative change at Cisco, Nancy’s focus in on family and friends, horses and dogs – anything that can get her outdoors and helping to re-charge the batteries. Nancy has long been a passionate advancer of equity and justice in society, inclusivity and diversity and regularly mentors and coaches women in technology roles.
Nancy holds a BA (hons) in history and political science, a Master’s degree in Political Science (International Relations), and a LLB in law from the University of British Columbia. Nancy is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales and the Law Society of British Columbia (non-practicing).
