John Wunder is Senior Vice President of Cisco’s Sales Strategy, Planning & Operations (SSPO) organization. He and his team are responsible for streamlining and unifying sales strategies across Cisco. With his deep understanding of the market and customer needs, John is evolving our go-to-market model into one that emphasizes simplicity, focus, and growth. John’s ability to align teams to growth opportunities and optimize sales processes to improve speed and efficiency, help Cisco deliver exceptional value to customers in an increasingly competitive landscape.
Throughout his 26-year tenure at Cisco, John has been an agent of change and transformation, consistently delivering sustainable growth and developing high performance teams. As a Sales and CX leader, he learned firsthand the value of keeping the customer first and carried that value with him throughout his many global sales strategy roles. Prior to his current role, John led Cisco's Global Renewals & Growth Organization, where he built and mobilized an organization of 1000+ Renewal Managers, Specialists, and Business Development Managers. Prior to that, he led Cisco’s Enterprise segment, and was the architect of the Country Global Enterprise Model (CGEM), a go-to-market approach focused on Cisco’s top 200 global customers. Most of John’s career has been in sales and leadership positions, including Account Manager, Regional Manager, Sales Director, and Vice President.
John holds two degrees from the University of South Carolina and has served on the university’s board for the Folks Center of International Business. In addition, he has served as a board member of the Bridge School, an organization in Hillsborough, CA, focused on educating children with speech and physical impairments. John is also one of the top fundraisers for Covenant House, an organization dedicated to fighting human trafficking and providing shelter and resources to young people facing homelessness. He has three children and resides in Inlet Beach, Florida, with his wife, Erin.
