John Morgan is Senior Vice President and General Manager of Splunk Security. In this role, he leads the strategy and innovation for Splunk’s security business. John is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of cybersecurity solutions tailored for the AI era. Leveraging market-leading Splunk and Cisco platforms, he leads a team dedicated to enhancing organizations’ security posture and risk management capabilities using a unique data corpus and a scalable data analytics platform.
John is a business and product leader with over 25 years of experience in cybersecurity. He has built high-performing teams and numerous innovative solutions across many aspects of security including network, cloud, endpoints, data, mobile, identity, applications, XDR and AI. His leadership is characterized by a strong strategic market and customer view along with predictable cross-functional execution.
Prior to joining Splunk, John has led organizations ranging from early-stage startups to large, multinational companies, consistently delivering market-differentiating outcomes and transforming business performance. His prior roles include SVP and GM at Trellix, CEO of Confluera, GM of Security at F5, and VP of Product at MobileIron.
A native of Sunnyvale, CA, John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
