Brad Murphy (Murf) is SVP, Platform Engineering and Information Security, Splunk. His team spans Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Cloud Platform, Foundations, Federation, Data Management, SDLC, tier 1 services, infrastructure, and operations critical to Splunkers, customers, and administrators. Additionally, Murf leads the Global Security organization for all of Splunk, which is a specialized product security organization deeply ingrained in the design, release, compliance, sales, and ongoing security of Splunk products.
As part of his role, he is responsible for Splunk’s multi-presence strategy to meet our customers where they are, AI Productivity and Engineering Velocity, cloud gross margins, and is the executive sponsor for some of our largest customers, including Wells Fargo, Amazon/AWS, Azure/GCP Partnerships, Goldman Sachs and UnitedHealth Group. He focuses his engagements on delivering value to customers by driving clear customer outcomes across a shared roadmap.
Prior to Splunk, Murf led Works with Alexa to drive the smart device flywheel for Amazon and served as a General Manager in Amazon Web Services (AWS) Identity focused on simplifying the migration of on-premises servers, databases, and applications to the AWS Cloud. He has also held leadership positions at SAS and rPath Inc. and was a C/Java Unix developer for Kroger and IBM.
Murf is based in Seattle, WA and holds a MS in Computer Science from North Carolina State University.
