With a clear vision, the right tools, and an empowered team, Cisco Tech Comms is making AI work for us.
Every day, I am proud to help drive that transformation. As a Senior Director with over 20 years at Cisco, I have the privilege of leading Cisco Validated Designs (CVD) and the broader Product Content Strategy and Design organization.
My team is dedicated to building a unified, validated, and design-led content ecosystem that accelerates product adoption and delivers predictable outcomes for every customer. We offer trusted guidance to IT architects, design and deployment engineers, and operators who manage the most complex, mission-critical infrastructures. By equipping global engineering communities with proven, rigorously tested solutions, we enable organizations to achieve their business outcomes with greater speed, trust, and confidence.
When you lead a content function of this scale, you can’t ignore the transformative force of AI. Back in 2023, the rise of AI sparked everything from excitement to skepticism — and even fear — across the industry. For many, the future felt uncertain.
But at Cisco Tech Comms, we made an intentional decision. Instead of resisting the shift, we would help define it.
Two summers later, that choice has fundamentally reshaped how we think, write, review, and deliver content. Our team’s belief has always been simple: AI is not here to replace writers, but writers who master AI will lead the future of content strategy.
Cisco Tech Comms built our foundation on that principle. Our teams immersed themselves in hands-on AI training, adopted enterprise-ready AI tools, and developed scalable prompt libraries that improved speed, clarity, consistency, and SEO readiness.
At first, we faced skepticism and doubt, especially around adopting new skills while managing ongoing work. But building our GenAI core team, with expertise from SMEs, engineers, and data analysts helped us move forward. Cisco employee trainings, such as GenAI Fundamentals, Prompting for Everyone, and the various AI belts, were invaluable in accelerating our learning and adoption.
One of the most meaningful transformations has been applying AI to improve the content experience for more than 10 terabytes of user-facing content on Cisco.com — one of Cisco’s highest-traffic digital ecosystems.
AI-assisted content discovery now helps customers get answers faster and more intuitively. This lays the groundwork for personalized content experiences at scale. By reducing time-to-information and enabling smarter navigation, we’ve improved customer outcomes while saving costs.
If you’re passionate about shaping the future of product content, design-led experiences, and AI-driven innovation, I invite you to join this journey. Whether you’re a content strategist, engineer, designer, or product leader, your ideas and perspective matter.
