With a relentless pursuit to move people through the wonders of sports, Decathlon is setting new benchmarks globally, supported by a robust partnership with Cisco Meraki. Their latest endeavour? A seamless, scalable network infrastructure that powers Decathlon's expansive reach across 80 countries.

Decathlon, the global sports retailer headquartered in France, has embraced Cisco Meraki's cloud-based solutions to transform their network management. This collaboration ensures high-performance, resilient networks and seamless connectivity across their 2000 sites, including stores, headquarters, warehouses, and factories.

Decathlon, known for its innovative approach to sports retail, is leveraging the full spectrum of Cisco Meraki’s solutions—from network automation and security to seamless connectivity—to drive operational excellence and enhance customer engagement across its global footprint.

 Built on a single, converged Cisco Meraki network that is inherently secure and reliable, Decathlon will be able to optimize operations and offer unmatched, innovative experiences for their customers, ensuring smooth transactions and dynamic inventory management.

Advanced features powered by Cisco Meraki’s API solutions will allow Decathlon to automate complex processes, reduce errors, and save valuable time, ultimately enhancing the customer experience and operational efficiency.

Thanks for joining us today, Rémy, Guillame, and Julien! Rémy, let's start with you. Decathlon has been rapidly growing and innovating in network management. Can you tell us more about this journey?

Rémy: Thank you! At Decathlon, our network is more than just a support function; it's an enabler of our ambition to connect communities through sports. We needed a solution that could scale with our growth and provide autonomy to our country teams. Cisco Meraki's cloud-based automation and innovation were the perfect partners to achieve this, and we currently run Meraki Full Stack (MX, MS, MR).

How does the Cisco Meraki solution address the challenges Decathlon faces with network expansion and management?

Guillame: Our network needs are extensive, with new networks being created every day. Meraki solutions provide us with automation capabilities that simplify complex tasks and reduce the time required for network deployments. This is crucial as we aim to deploy at scale and ensure secure, reliable connectivity worldwide. 

Julien, can you elaborate on how Cisco Meraki is driving this transformation?

Julien: Absolutely! Cisco Meraki's solutions allow Decathlon to automate processes and provide high visibility and security across their networks. With features like API-driven automation and dynamic real-time inventory management, Decathlon can focus on delivering exceptional service to their users and customers while maintaining robust security standards.

What role does the API play in Decathlon’s network operations? 

Rémy: We leverage Meraki's APIs extensively, averaging 2.5 million API calls per month. This automation reduces complexity, enhances network performance, and allows us to customize solutions to meet specific needs across our sites. It's a key factor in scaling our operations efficiently.

Guillame, security is always a top priority. How is Decathlon ensuring network security amid this growth?

Guillame: We continuously monitor and adapt to ensure our compliance; Meraki enables us to do this as well by linking with our preferred solution.

With the network being an enabler of Decathlon's ambition, what does the future hold?

Julien: With Meraki’s solutions, Decathlon is well-positioned to support future growth, including opening new stores and extending into new regions. The partnership with Cisco is crucial in driving this next phase of network-enabled innovation. Together, we are paving the way for smarter, more connected sports retail experiences globally.

Rémy, any final thoughts on this partnership with Cisco?
