Beijing, Jan. 7, 2014 — Cisco was honored with the “2013 China Outstanding Corporate Citizenship Award” at a ceremony jointly sponsored by China Association of Social Workers’ Committee of Corporate Citizenship, CCTV Business Channel and Tencent Charity Foundation on December 15, 2013. At the same time, Cisco-UFCH (United Foundation for Children’s Health) “Connected Healthy Children Program” stood out from over 100 CSR programs at a competition co-held by China Philanthropy Times, China Association of Social Workers’ Committee of Corporate Citizenship and the Beijing Normal University China Philanthropy Research Institute, and won the “2013 Outstanding CSR Case Studies Award”.
Since entering China in 1994, Cisco has achieved remarkable accomplishments through its CSR efforts, such as Cisco Networking Academy™ and “Connecting Sichuan”. In 2013, Cisco teamed up with UFCH to launch an innovative “Connected Healthy Children Program”. In addition to a cash donation of RMB 1 million to the program, Cisco has also deployed its collaboration and Cisco WebEx® technology solutions in support of the initiative. This program aims at helping underserved children to gain access to quality healthcare resources, providing professional training and guidance for doctors and caregivers in remote areas, and increasing the efficiency of healthcare delivery in local regions.
