SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 16, 2009 – Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) announced today that the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission have terminated the mandatory waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvement Act of 1976, as amended, with respect to Cisco's pending acquisition of Starent Networks.
With the receipt of this clearance, Cisco has now satisfied the regulatory approval requirements under the merger agreement to complete the acquisition of Starent Networks. Cisco expects to close the transaction in the coming days.
