MIAMI, November 21, 2008 - Cisco is pleased to announce the appointment of José Manuel Berruecos as regional manager for the Cansac region, replacing Rodrigo Abreu, who has been appointed as Country Manager for Cisco Brazil, effective December 15. Berruecos joined Cisco as global accounts and strategic accounts manager, leading some of the region's most important accounts. With this appointment, Cisco will take advantage of Mr. Berruecos' strong expertise in the IT market in Cansac.
Prior to joining Cisco, Berruecos was the general manager for the Latin American multi country area (MCA) for EDS, which comprised 15 countries including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama and Costa Rica among others. In this position, he was responsible for more than 3,500 employees, serving top customers in the region.
Prior to that, Berruecos held several key high level sales positions for SUN Microsystems Mexico, Informix Software and Hewlett Packard. He holds an MBA from the ITAM and has a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems from the Universidad Iberoamericana.
