Sify Selects Cisco to Pioneer IP-NGN Adoption in India

The Cisco CRS-1 will migrate Sify's infrastructure to a Next Generation IP Network

BANGALORE, India - September 2, 2008 - Cisco Systems® today announced that Sify (Nasdaq National Markets: SIFY), a pioneer and leader in data telecom and Internet services in India, has selected the Cisco® CRS-1 Carrier Routing System as the foundation of Sify's Internet Protocol Next-Generation Network (IP NGN). The decision is part of Sify's strategy to enhance its existing core network to meet customers' ever increasing demand for sophisticated network services and to address the rapidly evolving India market. The announcement further underscores Cisco's expertise and leadership in IP NGN technology and emphasises the growing relevance of video, in the Connected Life of individual consumers.
