SAN JOSE, Calif. - September 25, 2008 - Cisco today announced that the company's proxy materials for its 2008 Annual Meeting of Shareholders are now available via the Internet under the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's new Notice and Access rule and may be viewed on Cisco's Investor Relations website at http://investor.cisco.com/annual_meeting.cfm.
Under the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's new Notice and Access rule, companies may now satisfy their proxy materials delivery requirements by delivering a "Notice of Internet Availability of Proxy Materials" to shareholders, providing Internet access to the proxy materials, and providing a printed set of proxy materials by mail to any shareholder who requests them.
Cisco is committed to delivering value for its shareholders and reducing the environmental footprint of its operations. By adopting this new delivery procedure under the Notice and Access rule, Cisco believes the proxy distribution process will be more efficient, less costly and help in conserving natural resources.
