TORONTO, Canada - May 15, 2008 - Cisco is pleased to announce the appointment of Nitin Kawale as president of Cisco Canada. Kawale, who previously led Enterprise and Public Sector operations for Cisco Canada, is now responsible for all Canadian sales operations.

Nitin Kawale, President of Cisco Canada

Kawale is replacing Terry Walsh, who after five successful years leading Cisco Canada's growth, is returning to his native Australia, where he will continue to work within the Cisco global organization.

"Cisco is extremely proud of the accomplishments of our Canadian operations," said Rob Lloyd, senior vice president, U.S., Canada and Japan. "Over the past five years our Canadian business has tripled, making it one of the most successful Cisco operations in the world. We thank Terry for his leadership and congratulate Nitin as he takes over the reins of this high-performing national team."

With a 12-year tenure at Cisco, including two international roles, Kawale brings a record of leadership, success and a broad understanding of the company's business to the Cisco Canada team. In 2006, Kawale was tapped to lead Cisco Canada's Enterprise and Public Sector operations, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of Cisco Canada's enterprise and public sector market strategy. There he aligned engineering, service, sales, marketing, and operations to achieve customer success. His previous Cisco roles include supporting Global Sales Strategy and Planning, where he developed and executed strategies around key issues facing the worldwide sales force. As head of sales and operations for the Global Mobile Vertical team, Worldwide Service Provider Group, Kawale developed and executed the global industry-specific strategy for Cisco's fastest-growing mobile business.
