SAN JOSE, Calif. - April 23, 2007 - Cisco® today announced that it is teaming with SAP AG as part of a global definitive agreement to advance intelligent and flexible collaboration solutions for enterprises. SAP will also standardize on the Cisco TelePresence system for high-end virtual meetings to foster internal collaboration globally.

The objective of the shared vision is to seamlessly integrate collaborative tools such as the Cisco TelePresence system and Cisco Digital Signage with SAP® business applications to enhance interactions in the context of established business processes. This initiative will support the jointly developed enterprise solutions from Cisco and SAP that provide customers with access to business information as it is needed to perform critical business operations.

Cisco TelePresence rooms will be set up in SAP offices around the globe starting with Walldorf, Germany and Palo Alto, California, as well as Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, in the United States. SAP plans to have these initial Cisco TelePresence rooms operational by June 2007.

"By implementing the Cisco TelePresence system, we will take collaboration to the next level by overcoming geographical barriers and enabling employees, customers and partners to work together more effectively," said Uwe Herold, CIO, SAP AG. "We anticipate that TelePresence will substantially enhance SAP's operational efficiency, particularly in the areas of new product development, and customer engagement."

The Cisco TelePresence system creates unique, "in-person" experiences between people, places, and events in their work and personal lives. It delivers life size images, ultra-high-definition video (1080p), spatial audio, and a specially-designed environment that create a "room within a room" meeting space.

"SAP has been a thought leader in driving business process agility beyond the traditional walls of the enterprise, enabling collaborative business transformation and innovative new business models," said Guido Jouret, vice president and Chief Technology Officer, Cisco Emerging Markets Technology Group. "In combination with Cisco TelePresence, SAP will enable even more productive and compelling business transformation for their customers."

Cisco and SAP will also be demonstrating a simulated scenario at SAPPHIRE® '07 Atlanta, using Cisco TelePresence as a Plant Management resource focused on Risk Mitigation. This early stage integration is an example of how SAP's Governance Risk Management business application, in concert with Cisco Services Oriented Network Architecture and TelePresence, can substantially enhance visibility and responsiveness to enterprise risk.
