SAN FRANCISCO (RSA) - February 6, 2007 - SAVVIS, Inc. (NASDAQ:SVVS), a global leader in IT infrastructure services for business applications, today launched a new managed security service for its business customers through which SAVVIS configures, supports, manages and monitors the newest and most advanced security device from Cisco -- the Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA).

The Cisco ASA is a core component of the Cisco Self-Defending NetworkTM, the company's security solution framework. The Cisco ASA family features advanced security appliances that offer self-aware, active threat defense to protect businesses of all sizes. The Cisco ASA offers integrated firewall, intrusion prevention, virtual private networking (VPN) and anti-malware protection. SAVVIS is one of a select number of Cisco Powered Network-designated service providers certified to offer management of the Cisco ASA.

SAVVIS takes advantage of the leading-edge Cisco ASA to provide both managed firewall and network intrusion detection systems (NIDS) to customers in a single unified delivery platform. In addition, SAVVIS' managed Cisco ASA service provides business customers with IPSec VPN capabilities, which allow customers to connect remote sites to the Cisco ASA, utilizing 3DES or AES encryption standards.

An optional virtual firewall service enables customers to establish multiple instances of fully managed virtual firewalls using a single integrated Cisco ASA. Because the Cisco ASA makes use of virtual firewalls and the VLAN method of network segmentation, whereby networks are separated logically instead of physically, SAVVIS' service provides customers additional benefits, such as reduced complexity, hardware expense and power consumption. Compliance and security standards often require sensitive information to be segmented on separate networks to minimize the potential impact of security threats. The design of the Cisco ASA makes the creation of these independent networks less complex.

The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc., is one of the nation's largest commercial real estate and finance groups. With more than $19 billion in assets under management and more than 130 million square feet of commercial real estate in its various portfolios, the Inland Group is collectively the fifth largest shopping center owner in the United States. "As a longtime customer of SAVVIS, we were pleased when we learned they were planning to introduce the Managed ASA service," said Kurt Huddleston, IT Director for the Inland Real Estate Group of Companies. "We were particularly interested in the power of the Cisco ASA, and the fact that SAVVIS can now deliver it as a managed service makes it even more attractive. With SAVVIS we gain painless implementation of the most advanced security on the market and easy network access for our employees."

"Cyber crime is one of the most serious threats facing businesses today," said Al Safarikas, senior director of service provider marketing for Cisco. "SAVVIS' network and managed security expertise, combined with their experience in virtualized services, makes them well-suited to manage the ASA as an advanced managed security service. We are proud to designate SAVVIS as a Cisco Powered Network program member."

As with all of SAVVIS' managed security services, customers receive 24/7/365 management of the service, including the provisioning and maintenance of the Cisco ASA, and continuous monitoring of network activity. SAVVIS' security legacy dates back over two decades and has demonstrated proven reliability and a superior level of protection. Through SAVVIS's managed ASA service, customers are able to order a fully configurable, personalized and scalable solution, providing a cost effective way to quickly and efficiently initiate system security, all available in a matter of days.

"Cisco has partnered with a company which can could monitor, manage and deliver their Self-Defending Network offerings through services that adapt to evolving customer requirements," said Chris Richter, Vice President of Security Services at SAVVIS. "SAVVIS' offerings are tailored to meet the needs of enterprises that require leading Cisco technologies combined with cost-effective management services that are optimized and tuned to a customer's environment."

On Dec. 19, 2006, Cisco and SAVVIS announced an agreement to enable deployment of a new SAVVIS network based on the Cisco Internet Protocol Next-Generation Network (IP NGN) architecture. This new network will enhance SAVVIS' global application infrastructure and expand SAVVIS' ability to deliver "IT-Infrastructure-as-a-Service."
