AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands - November 16, 2006 - Following the continued success of Cisco's small, medium (SMB) and mid-market sales over the past five years, growing by 20 percent in the last year, the company today announced eleven new customers across Europe. These businesses are now benefiting from smart, simple and highly secure IT solutions that help increase competitiveness.

The new customers include: LMC in France, Prego Services in Germany, Maggiore in Italy, Grupo Griñó in Spain, BCD Travel in Portugal, Spyker Cars in the Netherlands, Ähtärin Eläinpuisto in Finland, Devgen in Belgium, Franz Hutterer in Austria, Korston in Russia and Direct Visual in the UK. This illustrates the rate at which SMB and mid-market companies are adopting Cisco technologies to help increase operational efficiency, minimise costs and speed up responses to customers as part of their technology evolution.

Henk De Jonghe, IT director for Devgen, who has recently invested in a Cisco Unified Communications system, said: "We wanted to invest in communications technology that best fit our overall outlook. As far as our communications network is concerned, we are now completely ready for the future, which allows us to be on the ball, 100% of the time".

Cisco has successfully developed a specific range of business-enabling products, management tools, services, support offerings and financing options for SMB and mid-market customers, which are defined as having between 20 and 1,000 employees. Cisco is committed to this important sector, which makes up 98 percent of the companies across Europe, and continues to provide it with technology solutions via its world-class channel partners. This helps them to communicate, collaborate and compete more effectively. By doing so, Cisco fosters a better and smarter way of doing business.

Edzard Overbeek, Vice President, Commercial, Operations & Planning, Europe, Cisco Systems, Inc., said: "With a further eleven customers adding to Cisco's growing SMB and mid-market customers across Europe, there is no doubt that we are continuing to equip these companies with the tools they need to become more competitive. We are seeing an increasing number of businesses in this sector strategically investing in technology and we hope to grow the market to a $10 billion business for Cisco in the next five years. By matching their investments to current business needs while planning for future developments, they will benefit from more efficient communications by having instant access to information."

All solutions for the SMB and mid-market segment are delivered by Cisco channel partners, which have specific knowledge of their clients' business needs and how they can be met through planned technology investments. A Cisco channel partner can help develop an incremental strategy to help evolve a company's IT.
