SAN JOSE, Calif., - October 24, 2006 - Cisco Systems, Inc. today announced that Rebecca Jacoby has been promoted to Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective immediately. Jacoby was previously Vice President, Customer Service and Operational Systems, Cisco Systems. Jacoby will report to Randy Pond, Senior Vice President of Operations, Processes and Systems.
As CIO, Jacoby will continue to drive the innovative use of information technology (IT) and Cisco technology throughout Cisco on a global basis, enabling productivity and operational excellence across all business functions. By deploying new Cisco technologies within the company, Cisco will continue to be its own best example of how technology can be implemented in an enterprise-- ensuring higher quality and integrity in our technology, and providing Cisco more credibility as a trusted business advisor.

During her 11 year tenure at Cisco, Jacoby has built a strong reputation as a focused and innovative business leader. She has held a variety of leadership positions within Cisco including VP, Customer Service and Operational Systems, and VP, Manufacturing. She was also a charter member of Cisco's Business Process Operations Committee (BPOC), where she played a vital role in re-engineering several Cisco processes to deliver efficiency and better service to our employees and customers. Prior to Cisco, Jacoby held positions at Ungermann Bass, Xidex and Amdahl Corporation. Jacoby will oversee a staff of 1,800 people worldwide while managing the IT strategy and operations for approximately 50,000 Cisco employees globally.
