SINGAPORE - August 14, 2006 - Cisco Systems® has boosted its executive team in Singapore to focus its abilities to supporting the Singapore government's Intelligent Nation 2015 (iN2015) master plan and other major infrastructure projects in the country. Cisco® has appointed Tan Goh Beng, who has over 20 years experience in the infocommunications industry, as its executive director for strategic projects in Asia.
Goh Beng, who reports to Chris Khang, vice president for Asia, will work closely with Craig Gledhill, the company's managing director in Singapore and Brunei, to drive Cisco's participation in projects such as the next-generation National Infocommunications Infrastructure (NII).
"This is a very eventful year for the infocomm industry in Singapore and Cisco has the technologies and the experience to play a significant role in many of the projects. Having Goh Beng on board will enable us to provide even better support for those projects," Gledhill said.
In further executive moves, Terence Cheong, previously the director of business operations, has been appointed as the director for advanced technologies for Singapore and Brunei. "Advanced technologies is the fastest growing part of our business and having an experienced leader like Terence will help enable Cisco to make our solutions even more relevant for our customers," added Gledhill. Cisco's advanced technologies business in Singapore grew by over 50 per cent in FY 2006 over FY 2005.
Nicole Tan has been appointed to take over the role of business operations director for Singapore and Brunei. "Business operations is a critical function for Cisco and we are confident that Nicole has the right leadership and expertise to put in place the systems that will drive greater efficiencies in the organization," said Gledhill.
Prior to Tan Goh Beng's appointment in Cisco Systems, he was the chief of technology solutions and sales in NCS Pte. Ltd. Before NCS, he held a number of senior management positions in various organizations, including Singapore Computer Systems Ltd and the National Computer Board, which is now known as the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore.
Terence Cheong has been in Cisco for over seven years, in a variety of sales and operational leadership roles covering the telecommunications, education and government sectors. He has 12 years of experience in the infocomm industry and has developed strong relationships with business and government leaders.
Nicole Tan was previously the financial analyst lead for Cisco's South Asia region. She joined the company in 2003 and has risen up the ranks of the financial organization. She has ten years of financial experience in companies like Motorola and KPMG.
