KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - July 28, 2006 - Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), Malaysia's leading provider of information and communication technologies, won the coveted Best Integrated Campaign award at the Cisco® Powered Network Brand Usage Award Ceremony and Celebration in the US recently.
The award recognizes the success of the relationship between TM and Cisco Systems® and is the first time an entry from Asia Pacific has been feted. YBhg. Datuk Hj Mohd Taib Hassan received the award during the Cisco Powered Network Marketing Summit. The event showcased how program members creatively and effectively use the Cisco Powered Network mark in advertising and marketing campaigns. The logo indicates that a company delivers its service over a network built end to end with Cisco products and technologies.
"We are pleased to have won the award, as it is testament of our position as the managed services provider of choice in Malaysia. Data services is a growing market, and our ability to offer benefits such as an end-to-end fully managed network, high security and lower total cost of ownership to customers is enhanced by TM's membership in the Cisco Powered Network Program," said YBhg. Datuk Hj Mohd Taib Hassan.
The Cisco Powered Network Program offers members an integrated arsenal of resources to assist them in developing their managed-services portfolio. TM has been a member of the program since January 2005, and Cisco technologies have helped the telecommunications giant refine its IP VPN (Internet Protocol virtual private network) service.
IP VPN was the category in which TM won its award. The service provider's IP VPN offers advanced Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology and a highly secure network that is also the most extensive in the country. TM's IP VPN has two packages - IP VPN Classic and IP VPN Premier - which cater to both large and small businesses as well as consumers and service providers.
"Cisco has worked with TM for over two years to create, commercialize and deliver its suite of managed services, and this collaboration has enabled TM to seize more opportunities in the growing managed-services market by utilizing Cisco's industry-leading technology. We look forward to the continued growth of this relationship," said Kumaran Singaram, managing director of Cisco Malaysia.
