Cisco & HCLT Enter Into a Unique Royalty Model

Cisco & HCL celebrate 10 glorious years of partnership; create one of the largest and longest Product Engineering Partnership

NEW DELHI, February 27, 2006 - HCL Technologies Ltd. ("HCLT"), a leading global IT solutions provider in Information Technology announced today that they have entered into a unique 'royalty model' with Cisco Systems, Inc., the world-wide leader in networking. Under this model, Cisco has licensed HCL the Intellectual Property (IP) for one of its network management products, wherein HCL would also be responsible for complete engineering of the product. This was announced during the 10 year partnership celebration by Cisco and HCL, which is marked as one of the largest and longest Product Engineering engagement in the Indian IT industry.

Cisco joined hands with HCL in February 1996, which resulted in setting up of their first Offshore Development Center (Cisco Offshore Development Center) in Chennai with 30 dedicated engineers. It was jointly championed to undertake software development work for Cisco's Inter-Operatibility Software (IOS). Today with more than 1100 employees focused in delivering consistent and high quality services to Cisco, HCL has maintained and enhanced customer satisfaction and thereby resulted in accelerating business growth. Within the past ten years, HCL has rapidly expanded its Cisco operations and expects that growth to gain momentum.

Cisco Offshore Development Center is the largest product engineering site for Cisco outside the United States.Mr. Cliff Meltzer, Senior VP, CISCO Systems Inc. said, "The 10 year HCL-Cisco partnership has been a long and successful one.
