HONG KONG, January 24, 2006 - Cisco Systems, Jardine OneSolution (JOS) and the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group today showcased the wide range of guest applications and interactive services provided at the recently-opened The Landmark Mandarin Oriental in Central.

JOS, one of the region's leading integrated Information Technology service and solution providers was selected by the hotel group to provide a complete converged Internet Protocol (IP) communications solution. After evaluating the Group's business goals, target markets and enriched scope of services, JOS tailored a total solution for the new hotel utilizing the industry-leading Cisco IP Communications system. As a result, The Landmark Mandarin Oriental has become the first hotel in Asia to provide guests with premium, easy-to-use unified messaging services and high-definition video-on-demand (VOD) entertainment.

According to Geoff McClelland, VP Technology - Hotel Development, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, the Cisco IP Communications system offers guests the highest levels of personalized services as well as better access to and control over their personal and business communications.

"The comprehensive solution by JOS and Cisco Systems has allowed us to forge new ground in the hospitality industry as a trendsetter in IP-streamed VOD entertainment on LCD screen televisions and unified messaging services," Mr. McClelland said. "This smart and highly secure communications platform not only reinforces our Group's tradition of exceptional guest service, but also raises our service level to new heights."

At the core of the JOS solution is the Cisco IP Communications system. This supports the hotel's pioneering unified messaging services, which allow guests to read various types of messages such as e-mails, faxes, messages typed by hotel staff, and even their voicemail, on the LCD screen televisions installed in each guestroom.

The Cisco-powered infrastructure includes Cisco Catalyst 3550 and 4506 switches. The Cisco switches located on each floor of the hotel ensure that all guests enjoy high definition VOD entertainment and high-speed Internet access around the clock. The Cisco Catalyst 4506 switches are part of the next-generation Cisco Catalyst 4500 Series for intelligent switching. The solution also employs Cisco CallManager - the software-based call processing engine - and the Cisco Color IP Phone 7970G for all 113 guest rooms.

The Cisco IP Phone 7970G brings network data and applications to users without the need for a personal computer. The state-of-the-art Cisco IP phone includes a high quality hands-free speakerphone as well as a backlit, high-resolution color touch-screen display for easy access to useful information such as weather forecasts and tourist attractions.

On each floor, Cisco Aironet Access Points have been installed on a hotel-wide, wireless distribution system to allow comprehensive wireless communications for all hotel guests and staff. The hotel can also provide guests with Cisco 7920G Wireless IP Phones to use outside their rooms.

"Today's business travelers demand more than simple IT connectivity - they value voice, video and data options that are efficient, convenient and highly secure," added Mr. McClelland. "This sophisticated IP communications solution will enable us to continue catering to these stringent demands and allow us to take advantage of the myriad IP services which are evolving in today's marketplace."

Committed to providing superior IT services and solutions to enable clients to realize their unique business objectives, JOS tailored an industry-specific solution for The Landmark Mandarin Oriental. JOS also undertook the design and installation of the cabling infrastructure and the converged network and management and administration applications. The wired local area network environment has empowered the new hotel to provide premium, value-added amenities and excellent service quality for both business and leisure travelers.

"JOS is pleased to partner with an IP technology leader like Cisco in implementing this very robust IP communications infrastructure supporting The Landmark Mandarin Oriental's unparalleled guest services," remarked Mr. Peter Yeung, Managing Director of Jardine OneSolution (HK) Limited. "We look forward to developing IP communications throughout the region, helping businesses across all industries reap the competitive advantages of this new technology."

"This collaboration underscores our commitment to bringing the best and most reliable solutions to different industries," said Mr. Fredy Cheung, managing director of Cisco Systems (HK) Limited. "We feel excited to be part of the effort in delivering innovative and differentiating premium services to the valuable guests of the hotel."

JOS was appointed in December 2004 and completed the installation of Cisco's IP Communications system in August of 2005, a month before the hotel's grand opening.
