SANTA CLARA, Calif., August 4, 2005 - Topio, (www.topio.com), the leading provider of enterprise software for data replication and recovery, announced today that the Topio Data Protection SuiteTM (TDPS) ,has gained qualification for fabric-resident replication, as part of the IBM® TotalStorage ProvenTM program. Topio is delivering the only solution in the industry today that allows asynchronous replication from any number of switches and locations in the fabric, while maintaining a system-wide 100% consistent image of production data at the target site. This unique capability allows customers to ensure immediate recoverability of business critical data as they scale across large SAN environments. With TDPS , Topio achieved system-wide, 100% consistent asynchronous data replication between two data center sites using the Storage Services Module (SSM)/SANTap protocol in the Cisco MDS 9216 Fibre Channel switch connected to IBM TotalStorage DS4300. In addition the test demonstrated remote recovery of a current system-wide image of the production data in seconds.

"Topio's Data Protection Suite takes advantage of the Cisco SANTap Service, which supports intelligent fabric applications for data replication, continuous data protection (CDP) and data migration," said Ed Chapman, Cisco senior director of product management. "These fabric applications, such as Topio's Data Protection Suite, can provide customers with best-in-class solutions to consolidate, simplify and manage replication."

TDPS supports heterogeneous storage and server environments, bringing a new level of performance, interoperability and simplicity that reduces the cost and complexity of data replication and recovery. Using the Cisco SANTap Service, TDPS offers IBM clients a fully-tested replication solution qualified through the IBM TotalStorage ProvenTM program to work with IBM's storage infrastructure.

"This industry-recognized qualification will be extremely beneficial to our customers and our partners as it helps take the guess work out of their solution purchase decision," said Chris Hyrne, vice president of marketing, Topio. "Customers can focus their energy on running their business instead of expending valuable time dealing with interoperability questions."

Topio has already qualified TDPS for IBM storage and IBM TotalStorage SAN Volume Controller solutions. With this additional certification, Topio continues to advance its position as a customer-centric organization dedicated to helping to ensure customers are provided easy-to-use, easy-to-implement solutions that address their recovery, replication data migration and business continuity challenges.

About the IBM TotalStorage Proven Program

The IBM TotalStorage Proven program supports the ability of independent hardware and software vendors to build high-quality solutions with the latest technology on leading storage platforms as well as reduce solution design time when multiple, tested building blocks have already been pre-tested.
