CeBIT, Hanover, Germany, March 7, 2005 - Booth C58, Hall 13: - Cisco Systems® will showcase the continuing development of the Intelligent Information Network (IIN) vision at CeBIT 2005, between 10 - 16 March 2005. This technology vision consists of three phases, evolving network infrastructure from the intelligent movement of data, voice and video across a system of networks, through to the virtualisation of networking resources in the second phase and thirdly to application-aware networks and services. At CeBIT, Cisco will be showcasing the next phase of innovation in intelligent storage networking solutions with new hardware and software designed to help customers increase agility to support changing business priorities, whilst lowering IT infrastructure costs.
New developments include the evolution of Cisco's Business Ready Data Centre architecture, an integrated systems approach to underpinning the operation of modern computing centres. By providing a consolidated approach to front-end data networks and back-end storage networks, tied together with a common set of intelligent services, Cisco is underpinning a framework for growth, whilst significantly reducing customers' data centre operating overheads.
These integrated data centre services include virtualisation, advanced security, and traffic management, which together deliver increased administrative efficiency and optimized utilization of compute, network and storage resources.

Cisco will also be illustrating its Intelligent Information Network vision by highlighting innovation in the fields of: IP communication; network security; wireless LAN; routing and switching and the Cisco Linksys Division.
The Guinness World Record-holding Cisco Carrier Routing System (CRS-1), with an industry-leading system capacity of 92 Terabits per second, will also be on show at CeBIT 2005 for the first time. Service providers will be able to hear about Cisco's foundation for IP Next-Generation Networks and solutions for broadband aggregation.
The presentation of Cisco's carrier-class technologies will focus on how service providers can profit from converging networks, services and applications over an IP Next Generation Network (IP-NGN), to reduce operating costs and generate new revenue by creating innovative, value-added services. Service providers world-wide are already deploying Cisco IP Next Generation Network technologies to exploit the growth in demand for triple-play (Voice, Video and Data) over broadband and managed IT and communications services.
In branch office routing, Cisco is redefining the category with its Cisco integrated services router portfolio, which will be showcased at the Cisco booth at CeBIT 2005. By combining call processing, voicemail, auto-attendant, hardware encryption acceleration and VPN concentration alongside data connectivity in a single integrated device, Cisco will demonstrate how simultaneous, highly secure voice, data and video services, can be activated at wire speed without degradation in performance.
Exceptional performance, proven repeatedly by independent testing, high port density, high availability and hardware accelerated integrated services, all of which provides for high investment security, make the Cisco integrated services routers not only attractive to small and medium-sized enterprises, but also to corporate branch offices and service provider managed services.
Cisco will also showcase its range of security products offering intelligent endpoint protection for servers and PCs. These products work together to underpin Cisco's Self-Defending Network, utilising Cisco's Adaptive Threat Defence (ATD) technology to automatically identify and help prevent attacks with the help of the Cisco Traffic Anomaly Detectors and Guards.

End-to-end IP communication - There will be live demonstrations of a highly secure, rich-media communications solution for enterprises, subsidiaries and home offices as well as service provider VoIP solutions for residential and business customers. In addition to IP voice and video telephony, unified communications and IP Contact Centre solutions, computer-telephony integration tools (CTI) and audio/web-conferencing with Cisco MeetingPlace completes the fully integrated communications solution.
Mobile into the future - Cisco will demonstrate the Structured Wireless-Aware Network (SWAN) to show companies how they can use all the services they have available in their local networks in wireless networks as well. The presentation will also feature the complete SWAN approach with access points, management and security servers, WLAN endpoints and infrastructure components. Cisco will also provide live demonstrations of how to manage its wireless infrastructure with the WLSE (Wireless-LAN Solution Engine).
Individual solutions for medium-sized enterprises - Cisco partner companies will be on the stand displaying their own individual solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises. These customers look at solutions such as: Wireless-LANs, products for network security, IP telephony along with routers and switches.
At home in the networked living room - Another highlight on the stand will be the networked house of the future. The Cisco Linksys Division will set up this display area to present Wireless and Voice-over-IP products for private users, home offices and small corporate subsidiaries. Special features will include wireless routers with new, powerful transmission technologies, new VoIP products, wireless storage solutions and multimedia products.
As a gold sponsor of the DSL Forum at CeBIT, Cisco will also be present on the DSL Forum's stand (Hall 13, Stand D37). There will be a DSL Home demonstration on the stand which will include Cisco solutions to support triple play over broadband.
