SAN JOSE, Calif., March 24, 2005 - Cisco Systems, Inc., today announced it has completed the acquisition of privately held Airespace, Inc. of San Jose, Calif. Airespace, a provider of Wireless Local Area Networking (WLAN) systems, provides a secure, flexible, and cost effective solution for enterprises and commercial customers. On January 12, 2005, Cisco announced a definitive agreement to acquire Airespace. Airespace's award-winning product portfolio will expand the Cisco Structured Wireless-Aware Network (SWAN) solution portfolio, accelerating the delivery of key WLAN capabilities and features for Cisco's entire customer base. With its increased WLAN portfolio, Cisco is uniquely positioned to take advantage of a rapidly growing enterprise WLAN market.

With the addition of Airespace's products and technology, Cisco can now offer its customers the most innovative and comprehensive suite of WLAN solutions in the industry, spanning a wide range of customer sizes and needs. Cisco's strategic direction continues to focus on the integration of wired and wireless networking for the benefit of improved enterprise-wide security, management, and support for new applications such as location services. By taking the best of both the existing Cisco and Airespace offerings and innovating to create business-critical WLAN solutions, customers can have additional confidence that their existing network investments are future-proofed and will be positioned to continue adding value over time.

With the completion of the acquisition, the Airespace team will become a part of Cisco's Wireless Networking Business Unit under vice presidents Brett Galloway and David Leonard.
