PARIS, June 23, 2004 - Cisco Systems® today announced that ADP Télécom, which, as part of the French airports operator Aéroports de Paris, oversees telecommunications across all airports and landing fields within a 50 kilometer radius of Paris, is switching to Cisco® platforms for the delivery of wireless local-area-network (WLAN) services at Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport's Terminal 1. ADP Télécom is also using Cisco technology to provide WLAN services for the Paris Expo-Porte de Versailles, the second-largest convention center in Europe, to deliver wireless services to visitors and exhibitors. ADP Télécom will operate all voice, data and video services for all exhibitors and visitors of the Paris Expo Organization.
The announcement follows successful ADP Télécom deployments of Cisco WLANs at many smaller airports and hotels, including 46 hotels of the Alliance Hospitality chain in France and Belgium (Holiday Inn), each with between 200 and 300 rooms. ADP Télécom has approximately half a decade's worth of WLAN management experience, and started working with Cisco technology on a hotel installation covering the 1,000-room Concorde La Fayette on the Champs-Elysées last year. ADP Télécom's strategy focuses on the provision of Cisco technology-based WLANs in three market sectors worldwide: airlines and airports, hotels and hospitality, and convention and conference centers. A crucial feature of its WLAN projects is that ADP Télécom aims to ensure the technology can be used to provide a range of services, from wireless hotspot delivery to video surveillance, in line with emerging best practice guidelines for WLAN business model success.

The equipment used across ADP Télécom's WLAN deployments includes Cisco Aironet 1200 Series access points with in-line power and Cisco® Catalyst 3550 Series switches, all running on industry-standard Cisco IOS® Software for easy deployment and management.
