MANILA, Philippines - November 12, 2003 - Cisco Systems® has announced that InfoBahn Communications, Inc., a diversified professional services firm engaged in offering information technology products, solutions and services, has achieved Cisco® IP Telephony-Revised Specialist certification. InfoBahn is the first company in the Philippines to achieve this certification.

The Cisco IP Telephony-Revised Specialization recognizes partners for their knowledge and expertise in selling, designing, installing, and supporting a multi-service network solution. The revised specialization is updated to include the latest IP communications solutions from Cisco. InfoBahn is certified to help customers deploy and support a scalable, distributable, and highly available voice, video and data solution based on a converged architecture in the single office, remote site or entire enterprise.

"IP Telephony has come a long way in the past two to three years and has reached a point where it is as stable and reliable as legacy voice technologies. The fact that it uses the same network as a company's computer and that it uses standards-based technologies such as IP and XML increases its value even more. Companies in the Philippines are starting to see great value in a converged IP communications and need skilled and committed systems integrators such as InfoBahn who can help them deploy those solutions," said Luichi Robles, country manager of Cisco Systems Philippines.

"Because of its great efficiency, we believe the switch to IP Telephony is inevitable and understand the need for businesses to take advantage of this emerging technology now. We have experienced staff dedicated to IP Telephony because we use IP Telephony and IP/TV (video broadcasting) ourselves and we have successfully implemented these powerful technologies for a number of companies," said Jay Bautista, president of InfoBahn.

According to market research firm, Frost & Sullivan, the IP Telephony market in Asia Pacific is projected to grow 45 per cent annually over the next two years and will be worth US$417 million by 2004. "Cisco has an estimated 56 percent of the Asia Pacific market for IP Centric telephony systems and has been the leader in this space. It was an early entrant and this has benefited the company tremendously. It was among the first companies to introduce local language capabilities on IP phones in several Asian countries and has a broad spectrum of IP phone offerings," said Manoj Menon, director, technology practice, Asia Pacific, Frost & Sullivan.

With a core competence in designing and implementing converged networks, InfoBahn has continually honed its expertise to address changing technological needs and scalability requirement. Aside from the Cisco IP Telephony-Revised Specialization, InfoBahn also has a Wireless LAN Specialization and is a Premier Certified Partner of Cisco.

"Cisco certifications and training enhance our ability to meet technology implementation timelines, budget goals and business objectives, while increasing productivity, competitiveness and organizational performance," added Bautista.
