SINGAPORE - October 1, 2003 - Cisco Systems, Inc., today announced a new management team for Singapore and the South Asia region. Craig Gledhill is the new Managing Director of Cisco's Singapore operations, with James Chia transitioning to the role of Director of Sales Operations for South Asia. Both Gledhill and Chia report to Bill Chang, Regional Managing Director of South Asia.
Gledhill was previously Senior Manager of Business Development for Cisco's Voice Solutions in the Asia Pacific. He brings a strong background in building advanced technology solutions for customers and was involved in the roll-out of Cisco's first IP Telephony site in Australia. In his new role, he will work with Singapore customers to help them develop integrated solutions based on IP infrastructures and converged data and voice strategies for the future.
Chia was formerly the Managing Director of Singapore. He has distinguished himself as the local managing director by increasing the penetration of advanced technologies in the local market. In his new role, he will look after Cisco's Channels as well as Commercial and Advanced Technology operations for the South Asia region, which comprises Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.
"Craig and James have been with Cisco for over five years and are valuable members of our management team. Craig's in-depth knowledge of Cisco's advanced technologies, especially IP Telephony, will be an important factor in Singapore. James will now lend his sales experience and leadership capabilities in the region," said Chang.
Gledhill has over 15 years of working experience in the IT industry. The key to his success has been customer focus and team work. This is something he will continue to drive in his new role and he is looking forward to meeting with Singapore customers to understand their needs and expectations from Cisco.
Chia joined Cisco in December 1998 from IBM. In his 7 years as a Client Manager for the Banking, Finance and Securities Industry at IBM, James had a successful track record, which were recognized through consecutive awards of the Personal Achievement and Manager's Award as well as the Managing Director's and Golden Circle Award.
