TORONTO, Ontario - July 3, 2003 - In a move to further drive the adoption of Internet Protocol (IP) telephony, Cisco Systems today announced the launch of an innovative program that allows Canadian companies to exchange their traditional telephone equipment for rebates towards Cisco IP telephony purchases. The Cisco Great Exchange Program offers credit for phone handsets and select private branch exchange (PBX) cabinets from select manufacturers.

"IP telephony is gaining momentum because it delivers real, measurable cost savings and productivity gains. Despite these inherent benefits many companies have been hesitant to upgrade to IP telephony due to existing investments in traditional telephone systems," says Chris Bazinet, manager of product and technology marketing, Cisco Systems Canada. "The Cisco Great Exchange Program will help Canadian organizations of all shapes and sizes upgrade to the next-generation IP communications technology."

Cisco is a world leader in network convergence and IP telephony. In Canada alone Cisco has delivered more than 150,000 IP telephones to approximately 400 corporate customers. Globally, Cisco has shipped in excess of 1.6 million IP phones to more than 6,500 customers.

The Cisco Great Exchange Program also offers coverage of shipping costs; inventory and shipping assistance; and leasing options for IP telephony purchases. It will run from June 2003 until October 25th, 2003. For more information, visit www.cisco.com/ca/greatexchange or contact an authorized Cisco IP Telephony Specialized Partner.
