SAN DIEGO, Calif., and SAN JOSE, Calif, June 24, 2003-Cisco Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CSCO), will participate in a range of activities at the U.S. IPv6 Summit 2003 to demonstrate its continued commitment to the IPv6 market. The IPv6 Summit takes place June 25 to June 27 at San Diego State University, Montezuma Hall.
Activities include a proof-of-concept demonstration of an IPv6-enabled Cisco IOS® Firewall, as well as participation in an HP Mobile IPv6 demonstration in the HP booth. Additionally, Cisco® speakers will present two technical sessions: "IPv6 in the USA" and "Challenges in Securing IPv6 Deployments."
Booth Demonstrations
Cisco will host a demonstration of the integration of an IPv6-enabled Cisco IOS Firewall coexisting with IPv4 firewall capabilities on a Cisco 3700 Series Multiservice Access Router. This demonstrates Cisco's development efforts in the area of a Cisco IOS Software-based solution that implements stateful firewall inspection over an IPv6 network. Applications such as standard file transfer and Web access will be highlighted during this demonstration.
In the HP booth, a demonstration of Mobile IPv6 capabilities running on a Cisco 3745 Multiservice Access Router, Cisco Aironet® 350 Access Point, HP-UX11i, Tru64 UNIX Correspondent Nodes and an HP iPAQ Pocket PC mobile node demonstrating the use of a mobile device within an IPv6 environment. The iPAQ will be roaming seamlessely between networks while constantly connected and running a multimedia application.
