SAN JOSE, Calif., March 3, 2003 - Cisco Systems®, Inc. today confirms that EDS is deploying Cisco® Info Center on the Navy-Marine Corps Internet (NMCI), providing a secure and scalable tool for EDS to manage its service-level agreements (SLAs) with the NMCI. Using Cisco Info Center, EDS can more easily manage the daily operations of the NMCI and demonstrate to executive oversight committees how the network is performing on an ongoing basis and in real time.

"We are dedicated to providing the optimum level of service for NMCI, and this tool will help us monitor the system to verify that the elements of the enterprise network are performing as they should," said Bill Richards, EDS' NMCI enterprise client executive. "Cisco Info Center will help us demonstrate to the Department of the Navy that we are meeting the contract's service-level agreements."

Cisco Info Center, developed by Cisco and Micromuse, enables users to centrally manage and control infrastructure services. Through sophisticated service-level alarm monitoring and diagnostics capabilities, the solution provides impact analysis, situational awareness and service assurance for SLA management and reporting. Cisco Info Center provides application, system, and network fault and performance monitoring; network trouble isolation; and real-time service-level management for large service providers and enterprises.

Cisco Info Center also interacts with other management tools to provide service-level monitoring and network partitioning for virtual private network and customer network management services. The product's ability to integrate with a wide range of existing network and systems management toolsets supports customers' existing investments.

Cisco Info Center provides real-time end-to-end visibility and accurate business impact analysis on IT-related faults," noted Mike Donohue, Micromuse senior vice president of sales, Technical Services and Business Operations. "With direct and easy access to such vital intelligence, EDS and NMCI are able to quickly prioritize workflow and focus on the most mission-critical problems first."

As the premier Cisco Info Center certified integrator, Windward Consulting Group is deploying this solution at NMCI. "We are pleased to team with EDS to deploy a scalable solution that will enable NMCI to meet its business objectives. Our experience and expertise bring forth a valuable contribution and will contribute to a successful deployment of a service-level management solution," stated Sean McDermott, president and CEO of Windward Consulting Group.

"The NMCI investment will result in performance tracking capabilities and a monitoring solution that will give NMCI control to better meet its users' SLA requirements. It is an exciting opportunity to be a member of an effort that will result in a robust network management solution."

Currently, the Cisco Info Center is partially deployed at the San Diego NMCI Network Operating Center and at four server farms. Deployments in three operating centers and 22 server farms by mid-calendar year 2003 are expected.
