Cisco supplies Australia's largest in-building IP Telephony System for Asian Pacific Building Corporation

More than 3,000 IP Telephony users at APBC to benefit from increased network management efficiencies, flexibility and scalability

Melbourne, November 27, 2002 - Cisco Systems Inc. today announced that it hassupplied networking equipment to provide an Internet Protocol (IP) Telephonysolution to the Asian Pacific Building Corporation (APBC). The IPCommunications system will provide services for more than 3,000 buildingstaff and tenants in the APBC office complex at No.1 Queens Road, Melbourne.

APBC is one of Australia's leading commercial office development companies,providing leasing and a range of value-add services to tenants across fivesites in Melbourne.

At No.1 Queens Rd, APBC selected Cisco's IP Communicatiuons System, based onCisco's Architecture for Voice, Video and Integrated Data (AVVID), toconsolidate the APBC building's entire communications infrastructure ontoone, IP-based network.

The Cisco solution will create increased network management efficiencies,flexibility and scalability through the deployment of IP-based networking.It will also remove the need for inefficient, traditional PABX technologyand will allow APBC to offer its tenants and staff access to buildingservices through the LCD display interface of the Cisco 7940 IP phone.

Networking equipment in the Cisco solution for APBC is based on CiscoCatalyst 6500 Series switches, Cisco 4000 Series switches, Cisco VoiceGateways and Cisco 7940 IP Phones.
