Apex Communications, Datacraft, Getronics, Mesiniaga and Transition Systems among award winners

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - October 29, 2002 - Cisco Systems lauded its channels for their contributions to customer success at an event held recently at Sunway Lagoon Resort. Cisco's channels are an important part of Cisco's ability to reach customers. And the channel will become even more important for Cisco as networking hardware becomes increasingly complex and customers demand complete solutions for their networking needs.

Among the award winners are Apex Communications (M) Sdn Bhd, Datacraft (M) Sdn Bhd, Getronics Solutions (M) Sdn Bhd, Mesiniaga Berhad and Transition Systems (M) Sdn Bhd.

"Today, customers are looking for product and service solutions that help increase their profitability," said Liz Lawson, Director of Asia Pacific Channels, Cisco Systems. "Customers don't want to waste time or money. If, by working as a team, both Cisco and our channels can deliver a solution that meets the customer's needs, then success will follow."

Cisco recently introduced the Value Engagement Model, a key worldwide channels initiative. The model is designed to ensure Cisco engages the right channel organization with the right skills at the right time in the sales cycle to generate mutual customer success, at the same time driving incremental customer satisfaction.

Cisco also recognized 20 new Cisco Certified Internet Expert (CCIE) engineers. CCIE is a highly respected industry certification. CCIE engineers have built some of the largest service provider and enterprise networks in the world. There are over 8,500 CCIEs in the world, with Malaysia now boasting 42 of them.
