Deploys 150 Cisco IP Phones at new Development Centre

NEW DELHI, India - July 15, 2002 - vMoksha, an e-business transformation company, today announced the implementation of a Cisco IP Telephony solution at their recently inaugurated Development Centre in Bangalore. The Cisco IP Telephony solution was preferred over the traditional PABX solution because of the productivity increases it offers as well as overall lower total cost of ownership. vMoksha has deployed over 150 Cisco's IP-telephones at the new Centre over public networks.

Using this New-World network infrastructure, vMoksha is looking to terminate and originate all its external phone calls (local, STD, ISD) over the Cisco-powered IP telephony solution. The company is also planning to use this infrastructure to connect to an ITSP (Internet Telephony Service Provider) who will provide ILD services when available.

Going forward, vMoksha will converge their voice and data applications and deploy Cisco Unified Messaging applications on the Cisco IP Phone to achieve additional productivity improvements.

Said Abnash Singh, Executive VP, vMoksha Technologies: "The solution has decisively lowered administration costs, is easy to manage and is an open standard solution which can be easily scaled up - leading to assured investment protection." He further added: "Research Groups such as Giga are forecasting widespread deployment of IP technologies in future, we decided to invest in Cisco IP Telephony so that we will be best placed to deploy a totally converged communications infrastructure as Indian regulations are appropriately relaxed."

"vMoksha, a company in the dynamic e-business space, is known to be an early adopter of technologies that drive greater efficiencies into business. The deployment of Cisco's IP Telephony solution at vMoksha, therefore, is a tremendous endorsement of the value that Cisco provides to customers," said B. Ashok, Vice President, Cisco Systems India. "We see the rapid progress in adoption of IP telephony within enterprises over public networks as a precursor to the IP revolution in India.
