HONG KONG - July 29, 2002 - Cisco Systems has appointed Errol Chan as country manager for Hong Kong with overall responsibility for sales, marketing and technical operations in the territory. He succeeds Frankie Sum, who was recently named North Asia managing director.

Prior to his new appointment, Chan was regional manager, sales and marketing for Cisco's Enterprise Line of Business. Chan first joined Cisco in July 1998 and oversaw the Hong Kong sales and marketing function.

In his new post, Chan will continue to report to Frankie Sum.

"Errol has demonstrated remarkable capabilities and continued to exceed our expectations in the past four years with Cisco," said Sum. "I am sure he will take the Hong Kong operations to a new level with his strong leadership and excellent customer relationships."

Chan brings over twenty-years' experience in sales to the new position as well as solid experience in channel and partner alliances. Previously, he was with Anixter Hong Kong and China Ltd., where his last position was general manager for Hong Kong and the South China region.

Prior to that Chan held a number of senior sales and management posts at Tandem Computers (HK) Ltd., Fujitsu and Burroughs Machines (HK) Ltd.
