Cisco Systems Appoints Larry Chai as Country Manager for Taiwan

TAIPEI, Taiwan - July 23, 2002 - Cisco Systems, Inc., announced today the appointment of Larry Chai as Country Manager for its operations in Taiwan. Reporting to Frankie Sum, Managing Director for North Asia, Chai will be responsible for the company's sales, marketing, technical and service operations in the country.

Larry Sun, previous Country Manager for Cisco Taiwan, will assume a new role as Procurement Manager, Asia and represent Cisco Manufacturing to external suppliers. He will be responsible for setting strategic direction and leading a broad cross-functional commodity team.

"Larry Chai joins us with valuable experience in the IT and telecom industries, not only in Taiwan but also in the US and the PRC. In addition, his strong background in both technical and sales management will add tremendous value to our customers and channels in Taiwan," said Sum.

Chai has over 17 years of experience in the IT and telecom industries working for a variety of companies including Global One, Nortel Networks and Chief Group.
