Cisco Systems Appoints James Chia as Managing Director for Singapore Operations

SINGAPORE - July 15, 2002 - Cisco Systems, Inc., announced today the promotion of James Chia to Managing Director of its Singapore operations. Reporting directly to Bill Chang, Regional Managing Director of ASEAN, Chia will be responsible for all of Cisco's sales and marketing activities in the country.

Chia was previously the Director for Enterprise Sales for Cisco in Singapore and was responsible for forging strong relationships with customers in the commercial sector.

"James has proven to be a natural leader with an excellent customer-focused attitude in his time with Cisco. In the challenging economic conditions, James stayed faithful to Cisco's primary objective of helping our customers lower operational costs and increase productivity through innovative Internet business solutions," said Chang.

Chia joined Cisco in December 1998 from IBM. In his 7 years as a Client Manager for the Banking, Finance and Securities Industry at IBM, James had a successful track record, which were recognised through consecutive awards of the Personal Achievement and Manager's Award as well as the Managing Director's and Golden Circle Award.
