JAKARTA, Indonesia - May 13, 2002 - Cisco Systems, Inc., the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, announced today the appointment of Irfan Setiaputra as the Managing Director for its operations in Indonesia. Reporting directly to Bill Chang, Regional Managing Director for Cisco in Asean, Mr Setiaputra will drive the company's growing business in the country.

Indonesia has been one of Cisco's better performing operations in the region. The continued development of enterprise and telecommunications networking infrastructure presents strong opportunities for the company to contribute to the development of the Internet in the country.

"Irfan comes to Cisco with 17 years of experience in the IT and telecommunications industries in Indonesia working with both local and multinational companies," said Bill Chang, Regional Managing Director for Asean, Cisco Systems. "He has shown great leadership and customer focus and we are confident that he can build on our growth momentum."

According to market research company, IDC Asia Pacific, Cisco is the leading provider of networking technologies and solutions in Indonesia with 87% share in routers, 66% share in LAN switches, and 65.3% share in remote access equipment.

Setiaputra was previously the Managing Director of Linknet Internet Access Broadband Services Business Group in Across Asia Multimedia (AAM). Prior to that he worked for a variety of companies including IBM Indonesia where he was a consistent top sales performer.
